My journey in the art world began in July of 2016 when I felt a strong urge and impulse to step into an art shop to buy some oil paints. I had no idea what to do with them at first so when I came home with a bag full of brush kits and student grade paints, I made my first attempt at creating something. It reminded me of a child’s kindergarten painting. I had a lot to learn! Devouring YouTube channel videos of different art styles and techniques, learning so many new things each day, it became a rush, increasing my depth of knowledge about the different types of paints, canvasses, gesso, sealer, brushes, inks and on and on it went. More and more I realized what i enjoyed painting. Initially landscapes and portraits then ranging through to abstract designs and interpretations of galaxies. Lana and friend A nursing and beautician background, I have a strong passion for healing, being very involved with reiki and energy healing. I do my best to combine art with the healing energy of crystals. Real selenite crystals are often used to heal and help with negative energies, attention disorders, pregnancies and much more. Time and effort and a ton of care, I have split my heart into each of my works every time I grab a brush or tinker with resin. My resin art has a multitude of layers infused with acrylic paints, alcohol ink, mineral pigments and glowing powder to give the painting a three dimensional look and depth. These pieces glow in the dark for up to eight hours. My new found love of art has given me a purpose and has opened my heart and mind to a whole universe of creativity.
